I was in Tasmania on the weekend, at the family home in Molesworth for my Dad’s birthday and a friends wedding.
Here are a few of the images taken that won’t make it up as single image posts. I plan to play around with single image HDR on some but I’ll see how I go. I purchased a little tripod for a trip thats coming up soon – next week, it’s a little flimsy for an SLR but only when fully extended, i’ll put it on the bonnet of a car if I need to, it also gets as low as 5cm which will be very handy for macro.
This is Bliss, one of the dogs. There is...

I’ve been pretty slack when it comes to taking and posting new photos lately. I also need to update my “about me” page and work on a few other aspects of my site. Rest assured though – there will be a lot more coming over the next month.
Aside from work commitments I’ve been working on my friends site: http://www.ramonatienda.com/
Ramona owns a store in North Melbourne – if you are anywhere in the area sometime you should drop in and have a look.
Some good news too – work will be using some of my images to decorate the offices. I’ll post which...

I recently had the pleasure of seeing one of my friends bands play at the Sustainable Living Festival; Federation Square.
The group is called khancoban; they discribe themselves as “Half noise, half folk – khancoban’s songs deploy in low-gravity and with a dash of grit.”
I really enjoyed their music on a sunny relaxing Saturday afternoon. Naturally I took some photos. Here they are:

Today I’ve had a look at single image HDR or tone-mapping. I chose three images to experiment with; Here I’ve posted the images with a comparison. I didn’t realise you could have tone-mapped images just using a single file and a range of tools: Photoshop, Photomatrix and Lightroom.
I actually really like this image, not because it’s a fantastic photo – because it’s far from it; I just find it very calming. It was very overcast on this particular day. Taken near Bushy Park, Tasmania (images are cropped in the post, you can click though to the original...

Anyone know any printing companies that compete with PhotoShelter? I’m looking for somewhere to ship off print requests for canvas etc. using my gallery rather than theirs.
Made a few changes to the sites layout this week: 3 row recent entries on the home page, recent blog entries on the home page and a couple of changes to categories.
Now I have a photoblog I just have to get to Venezuela and capture that shot I was thinking about. Well, that and get some equipment.
I think I should wait for the next version of the 5D Mark III though. As much as I want the high frame rate on the 7D for...

I’m currently working on getting a stock images store front on the site, hopefully it won’t take me too much longer. I still have a lot of my favourite images to load also, and hopefully on the weekend I’ll be going to the zoo with a zoom lens. I get to see the baby elephant! hopefully I get some decent shots out of it. I’ll be taking the macro too for the butterfly...

I’m still trying to get this up to scratch, I have a lot of media still to load and some more text to fill out. I’m also trying to add stock images for purchase as well as redbubble.com links.
On the photography side of things, hopefully next weekend I’ll have a high FPS camera, and I’ve bought some dye and things to experiment with more macro fluid shots.
Comment on and rate my photos ...
